Silver Group

Three beautiful cars were heading towards West in the U.S.A carrying members of the Silver group. It was night but soon it seemed that the sun has just risen in the west___ that is nothing but Las Vegas, no shortage of electric power.
Now you must be wondering what this Silver group is all about??? This group consists of some young people mostly Engineers of India having risen in life very high, successfully working in different places of USA. Some have their own software companies too. Ibrahim, MS, MBA (USA) holding a very high post, wife Rehana, a physiotherapist.Amit Kulkarni, who can not forget his childhood days when he did not fare well in his studies. He still remembers having been punished by his father in a different way- he had to wear a garland made up of shoes in front of a number of guests….But now, after his MS and PhD (U.S.A) he is a professor in a very good University. His wife, Sudipta who is a double MS is also a teacher... Ramakanth Jha REC Alumni is a very hardworking and sensitive person. Ms Kanchan who could not speak correct English once upon a time, but now a BE MBA(U.S.A) is very bold and holding a big post.
They are very good friends and in spite of their busy work schedule they manage to make a short holiday trip and spend sometime together. During that period they become fully Indians. They discuss and find solutions of many problems back home.
They were awestruck after looking at the dazzling display of electricity at Las Vegas which made the place not only beautiful and attractive but also turned the night into day. They appreciated but at the same time Ibrahim could not forget the sad incidence of suicide committed by a 12th standard boy in his home town in India because the boy could not prepare for his examination due to continuous load shedding at night. Is there any solution to this? That is why Ramakant who hails from a remote village of Bihar gets sentimental and expresses his wishes to go back to his country and serve there. Immediately Kanchan challenges “Show me the statistics of how many people coming from middle class families in India like us have worked and donated for the economic welfare of the poor and needy after meeting their family obligations”. Rest of them becomes silent. So Ramakant’s idea of going back to India is jeopardized……….
For the last five years they have started serving in different ways. Each member very honestly donate some percentage of their income which goes to three NGO’s in India which work for the welfare, education, health care of street children, orphanage etc.
Silver group leads a very comfortable and respectable life faraway from their near and dear one, but if their hard earned money is properly utilized in India, then one day, nobody will see children begging and living a miserable life -whole day running after auto rickshaws or private cars with a faint hope of getting a coin or two.
Silver group’s next dream is to adopt some Indian villages and change them totally where no student has to face the problem of power failure during his examinations. Hope Ramakant’s village will get the first chance in this noble swadeshi venture.
